Clinical Research at Retina Consultants of Nevada
Retina Consultants of Nevada is committed to staying on the forefront of treatment of retinal and macular diseases. We have participated in several nationally sponsored clinical research trials for the last eight years. Our highly respected research team has been involved in trials to test new therapies for age-related macular degeneration (ARMD), diabetic retinopathy and vascular occlusive diseases. The efforts of our clinical researchers, our referring doctors and our patients have resulted in FDA approval of many currently available treatments. Our clinical research program is committed to carefully selecting well-designed, safe trials that test the most promising new treatments, allowing our patients access to new treatments before they become widely available.
Many of the conditions we encounter and treat have approved and effective treatments. Most individuals respond well to these treatments. For those individuals who don't respond well to the current standard of care and for those conditions that have no proven treatment, clinical trials are performed to find a new and hopefully improved treatment for retina diseases. Clinical trials often represent a critical final step in the evaluation of a new treatment. A clinical trial may last 6 months to 4 years. Participation is purely voluntary.
Feel free to ask your physician if there are any ongoing clinical trials for your condition or contact us at 702-369-0200.
