Rodney D. Hollifield, MD
Dr. Hollifield was born in Lompoc, California. As a member of a military family, he lived in various locations around the world. He attended high school in the Philippines and suburban Washington, D.C., before graduating from the American Community School in Athens, Greece. He earned his undergraduate degree at the United States Military Academy at West Point and received his M.D. degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Hollifield completed his internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas. His residency in General Ophthalmology and fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery were completed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Hollifield formerly served as Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Hollifield is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
